Google made my wife tear up
Captivating product demo plus powerful emotion. The best ad in the game. I don’t care what anyone else says.
Denny’s screaming chickens
Is Denny’s completely tone deaf? They seem to be goading the chicken-treatment activists to strike back. Have they seen what’s happened to IHOP? C’mon, guys.
A Coke and a smile
What fun! Coke always seems to know how to go back to its roots: Sharing a Coke is a way to brighten the toughest of days. Think Mean Joe Greene, but with C. Montgomery Burns instead. Very nice.
CareerBuilder.com images will NOT LEAVE MY HEAD!
Funny. But we’ve seen this before. “Punching little animals” was a classic last year. I can’t quite relate to this one in the same way.
Forgettable Focus
Not as bad as left wingers thought. Not as good as right wingers thought. Just blah. Thank goodness no one will be talking about this a week from now.
Audi? Green Police? Please tell me you didn’t.
I spent 50 seconds wanting to punch somebody and the last 10 seconds wanting to punch somebody at Audi. That was a horrible waste of $5 million.

Nice analysis, Jason. I’ll agree to disagree on Denny’s chickens — I’ve never heard of any IHOP scandal (by my definition, this means it “hasn’t entered the public consciousness”
). More, every time it came on, my kids shouted “Chickens!” with great glee.
Also loved the Google ad. I’ve read that they were, in part, doing a live test on the impact of a Super Bowl ad on web traffic. More importantly, this kind of effort is a start toward helping the general public see their emotional connection to “search”, and perhaps ensure that there are fewer people “googling” on Yahoo or Bing.
